Jessica Ehrlich is a public affairs and strategic communications executive and a practicing attorney. With over two decades of experience in business, communications, investment finance, federal and state government, and private legal practice, Jessica spent half her career in New York City at Fortune 500 companies such as Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, The Estee Lauder Companies, and Cartier. Jessica also worked as an attorney in private practice in her hometown in Florida where she was named a "Leader in the Law" by the Florida Association of Women Lawyers' (FAWL) in 2013.
Jessica graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and holds a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas where she received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, interned for the Chief Judge of the U.S. Federal Court for Middle Florida in Tampa and held a fellowship in international human rights law. She is a licensed attorney in all federal, bankruptcy and local courts in the state of Florida and represents financial institutions in litigation throughout the state.
Living and working in lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001, Jessica decided to leave NYC for Washington, DC and a life in politics and policy. After attending law school, she served as Legislative Counsel to members of Congress on both sides of the aisle in the U.S. House of Representatives where she worked on many issues but intensively on the Financial Services and Ways and Means Committees. She has also served as a Mayoral Appointee in the District of Columbia in the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking and as an appointee to the Development Review Commission for the City of St. Petersburg, Florida. In 2012, she was the Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida’s 13th Congressional District where she ran against the longest serving Republican in the House at that time. She was running again in 2013 when a special election caused a political upset in the party that led to her leaving the race that was to become one of the most expensive in US history at the time and a bellwether for Democrats in the state of Florida when the out of district candidate chosen by the party to replace her was soundly defeated. Jessica was recognized by Glamour magazine at Carnegie Hall as a “Woman of the Year” for Women in Politics in 2012.
Since 2014, Jessica has been a sought out contributor on politics and finance appearing hundreds of times in national and international television, radio and in print. Known for her straightforward and balanced perspective, she was a regular contributor for years on "The O'Reilly Factor", "America's Newsroom", "Bulls and Bears", "Cavuto" and on many of the FOX News and FOX Business programs. She appears regularly on COURT TV , Newsmax, NewsNation, Scripps News, Times Radio as well as on MSNBC, SKY News, SKY News Arabia, SIRIUS XM, CNBC Europe, public radio and television, and local affiliates across Florida and DC. Jessica is also a requested speaker in college classrooms and at trade association meetings, political conferences, and other leadership events.
Jessica was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. Growing up an avid equestrian, she was a national and state champion in show jumping. Jessica is a world traveler, speaks three languages (as well as English) and has studied in France, Italy and Greece. She has been to every continent but two. While she still has a few bucket list trips to complete, she would happily be in the British Isles just about anytime. As well as her love of horses, Jessica is a lifelong corgi owner but has recently brought an amazing Golden Retriever into her life (follow him on Instagram @buckheadbuckley). When not working or discussing politics, she can be found in the garden, at yoga or in every home decorating and DIY store within a square mile.
